Deputy Minister Doan Mau Diep received the Vice Chairman of the Korea Human Resources Development Agency

On June 27, at the Ministry’s Head Office, Deputy Minister of Labour - Invalids and Social Affairs Doan Mau Diep had a meeting and worked with Mr. Lee Yeon Bog - Vice President of the Human Resources Development Service of Korea (HRD KOREA) on the coordinating the implementation of dispatching Vietnamese workers to work in Korea under the Employment Permit Program (EPS). Attending the meeting were leadership representatives of the units: International Cooperation Department, Department  of Overseas Labour, Center of Overseas Labour.


 

Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Minister Doan Mau Diep said that currently, Vietnam and Korea had the best cooperation, the political trust between the two countries has become a strategic partner. and cooperation in many fields from politics, economy, culture and society. Korea is the biggest investor in Vietnam today. The presence of Korean investors in Vietnam benefits both sides.
Regarding cooperation and dispatching Vietnamese workers to Korea to work, Deputy Minister Doan Mau Diep thanked and highly appreciated HRD KOREA for coordinating and supporting the Ministry of Labour - Invalids and Social Affairs to implement the EPS program. According to the users in Korea, Vietnamese workers are hard-working, intelligent and quick to adapt to the working environment. In contrast, Vietnamese workers want to work in Korea because of their culture, customs, and ability to integrate into Korean society. However, according to Deputy Minister Doan Mau Diep, the illegal residence of Vietnamese workers in Korea is still high and is one of the reasons why Vietnamese workers are more disadvantaged in the opportunity to work in Korea. .

In addition, Deputy Minister Doan Mau Diep said that the Government of Vietnam has taken many measures to ensure that Vietnamese workers comply with contracts and laws of two countries such as: enforcing compulsory deposit regulations for Labour before leaving the country; restricting recruitment of workers in localities with high rates of illegal labour; promote communication associated with the responsibility of leaders, local authorities where many workers are illegally staying.

Deputy Minister Doan Mau Diep also asked the Korean side to inform Vietnam of the earlier Korean Exam Plan so that Vietnamese workers have time to prepare and improve their skills so that the Korean test scores can achieve the highest results.
Thanks to the warm welcome of Deputy Minister Doan Mau Diep, HRD KOREA Vice President said that in charge of the overview of global recruitment and EPS recruitment and support regime, Korean youth also has the desire to go to work abroad. Therefore, his role is to receive labour, as well as to send Korean workers abroad to work, so he always cares whether workers working abroad can work in what position, get treatment, what policies or not?
Regarding the proportion of workers who quit illegal residence contracts in Korea, HRD KOREA Vice President said that many of the causes of workers staying and illegally residing include causes of departure, many Korean businesses still use foreigners illegally residing. The Vietnamese government has also tried to implement many solutions, hoping that this situation will improve in the future.

Finally, HRD KOREA Vice President said that the Korean side is trying to build a cohesive network to introduce workers to work in Korea back to Vietnam for Korean businesses investing in Vietnam. Thereby, helping Vietnamese workers return home on time.
