On December 03rd, 2019, in Hanoi, Minister of Labour – Invalids and Social Affairs Dao Ngoc Dung and ASEAN Secretary General Lim Jock Hoi had a discussion on the priorities, initiatives and activities in socio-cultural channel ASEAN 2020 and the abilities of cooperation, support of ASEAN Secretariat for Vietnam in the ASEAN Chairmanship 2020.
Japan was the largest market for Vietnamese workers in the period, accounting for 71,156, an increase of 16.64 percent from the same period last year. Taiwan (China) followed with 49,980 workers, down 12.72 percent. The Republic of Korea came next with 6,940.
On December 04th, 2019, in Hanoi, Ministry of Labour - Invalids and Social Affairs (MOLISA) in cooperation with Asia - Pacific Regional Network for Early Childhood held the Asia - Pacific Regional  Conference on Early Childhood Development 2019. The Conference with the theme "Working across sectors to promote nurturing and sustainable environments for young children". Attending the Conference were Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam, Chairman of the National Committee for children; Minister of Labour - Invalids and Social Affairs Dao Ngoc Dung; Director of East Asia - Pacific UNICEF Karin Hulshof; Director of Asia - Pacific Regional Network for Early Childhood Sheldon Shaeffer; Director of Asia - Pacific UNESCO Shigeru Aoyagi; and the Ministers, Head of the Delegations from the countries, territories in the Asia - Pacific region; 530 representatives from 35 countries and territories in the Region; 44 international organization, NGOs, experts, researchers. 
On May 17th, 2019, the Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc has issued a Decision No. 588/QD-TTg on approving a plan to mobilise social resources to support children in extremely disadvantaged communes in ethnic minority and mountainous areas.
