Minister Dao Ngoc Dung receives Director of ILO Office in Vietnam


 On June 22, at the Ministry’s Headquarters, Minister Dao Ngoc Dung had a cordial meeting and working with Ms. Ingrid Christensen, National Director the International Labour Organization (ILO) in Vietnam. Attending the meeting were representatives of the units: Inspectorate, Department of International Cooperation, Department of Social Insurance, Department of Legal Affairs, Department of Work Safety and Department of Labour Relations and Wages.

At the meeting, Minister Dao Ngoc Dung highly appreciated the cooperation relationship between the Ministry of Labour - Invalids and Social Affairs (MOLISA) and ILO Vietnam. The Minister said that the relationship between the two sides is closed and effective.
According to Minister Dao Ngoc Dung, besides the cooperated programs and projects, ILO Vietnam has accompanied Vietnam in institutional building, especially in amending and supplementing the Labour Code 2019, and contributing to the negotiation and signing of the EU-Vietnam Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA).
Minister Dao Ngoc Dung hoped that ILO Vietnam could make an objective assessment on labour issues, employment, social security and the labour market of Vietnam in the past 10 years. From the forecast of future development in the world, ILO Viet Nam can propose and recommend for the development of Vietnam. Moreover, the Minister also suggested that ILO Vietnam should continue to work more closely with units under the Ministry to tackle specific tasks.
Mrs. Ingrid Christensen, Director of ILO Viet Nam expressed her thanks to the Ministry of Labour - Invalids and Social Affairs for creating favorable conditions for ILO Viet Nam to successfully carry out the organization’s work recently.
She highly appreciated the success of Vietnam in the fields of labour, employment and social security. Especially, she was impressed with the way Vietnam overcame the COVID-19 pandemic, supporting people to overcome the pandemic.
With the achievements in institutionalization in the fields of social insurance…, Mrs. Ingrid Christensen hoped that, in the future, ILO Viet Nam and the Ministry of Labour - Invalids and Social Affairs will continue to cooperate more closely and share experiences in the fields of labour, employment and social security.

Minister Dao Ngoc Dung believed that with her long-standing experience, in the new term, Mrs. Ingrid Christensen would help Vietnam building the labour market, employment, social security and sustainable development.
