Deputy Minister Nguyen Thi Ha receives Executive Director of Care for Children Organization

On May 12th, at the Ministry’s Head office, Deputy Minister Nguyen Thi Ha had a cordial meeting with Mr. Robert Glover, Executive Director of Care for Children Organization (CFC). Attending the meeting were the Leadership of the Department of International Cooperation, and the Department of Child Affairs. At the meeting, the two sides shared the implementation of the pilot model on alternative caring in Vietnam and the potential of replication of this model in the forthcoming time.

 On behalf of the Ministerial Leaders, Deputy Minister Nguyen Thi Ha welcomed Mr. Robert Glover and his colleagues to visit and work at the Ministry of Labour – Invalids and Social Affairs (MOLISA). As well as, She also recognized and highly appreciated the cooperation between MOLISA and CFC in the field of supporting children with special circumstances in Vietnam through the implementation of the model of alternative caring.

Sharing at the meeting, the Deputy Minister has informed briefly a number of results of the project and some key activities in 2022 of the project on pilot model on alternative care in Vietnam. At the same time, the Deputy Minister hoped that in the forthcoming time, through the result of the evaluation of the project, the two sides would replicate the pilot model in more localities and the project could help more and more children, especially, children who have been impacted by Covid-19 pandemic. The Deputy Minister also shared with Mr. Robert Glover further information about Vietnam’s policies supporting social assistant subjects and children who have been impacted by the Covid-19 pandemic recently.
Mr. Robert Glover thanked Deputy Minister Nguyen Thi Ha for her warm welcome. He also highly appreciated the achieved results in the implementation of the pilot model of alternative care in Vietnam. Recently, despite many difficulties caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, the work of implementing the model of alternative care in Vietnam had many remarkable results. He said that the evaluation of the project would be the foundation for the two sides to find out the potential cooperation in the future. At the same time, he hoped that the two sides would work together more closely in order to reach the highest goal of the work of supporting children in need the alternative care from the institution to their families in the community.

Highlighted the recommendation of Mr. Robert Glover, Deputy Minister Nguyen Thi Ha said that MOLISA would already cooperate with CFC Vietnam to evaluate the pilot model which has been implemented in 2 provinces/cities (Hanoi and Thai Nguyen). As well as, the two sides will work together to implement this project and achieve the higher results in the forthcoming time. The Deputy Minister believed that the two sides would continue cooperating more effectively in the future.
