Deputy Minister Nguyen Ba Hoan receives Saudi Arabia’s Ambassador to Vietnam

 On April 20, 2021, at the headquarters of the Ministry of Labour - Invalids and Social Affairs, Deputy Minister Nguyen Ba Hoan had a cordial meeting with Mr. Saud F.M. Al Suwelim, Saudi Arabia's Ambassador to Vietnam. Attending the meeting were leadership representatives of Department of International Cooperation, Department of Overseas Labour.

At the meeting, Mr. Saud F.M. Al Suwelim thanked Deputy Minister Nguyen Ba Hoan for the warm welcome. The Ambassador affirmed the promotion of cooperation between the two countries in general and especially cooperation in the field of labour in particular. He hoped that in the coming time, cooperation in the field of labour between the two countries would be deployed to promote the recruitment of workers in the future. He added that in the vision to 2030, Saudi Arabia has many major projects being implemented and he hoped that Vietnamese workers would contribute to participating in these projects. In addition, he added, in Vietnam, Saudi Arabia has had many activities to support Vietnam through many important projects on infrastructure development in some provinces, supporting people affected by floods and natural disasters and support for Vietnamese people affected by the Covid-19 pandemic in recent years.
At the meeting, Deputy Minister Nguyen Ba Hoan appreciated the results achieved in the cooperation in the field of labour between Vietnam and Saudi Arabia recently. Deputy Minister added that Vietnamese workers working in Saudi Arabia mainly in the fields of construction, factories, engineering, transportation, restaurant services, hotels and domestic work.

The Deputy Minister thanked and highly appreciated the Ambassador for playing a bridging role in promoting and enhancing labour cooperation between the two countries in recent years. The Deputy Minister affirmed that the Ministry of Labour -  Invalids and Social Affairs always had been ready to coordinate with the Saudi Arabia to strengthen labour management, while protecting the legal rights and interests of Vietnamese workers in Saudi Arabia and promptly directed the handling of problems arising in the cooperation process.
Sharing with the Ambassador, Deputy Minister said that Vietnamese workers are well appreciated by host countries for their skills. In order to strengthen the labour cooperation more effectively between the two sides in the coming time, the Deputy Minister suggested that the Ambassador with his role will be the bridge to coordinate with the Ministry of Labour - Invalids and Social Affairs in the work of dispatching labourers to Saudi Arabia.
At the same time, the Deputy Minister hopes that the Ambassador will exchange information and request the authorities of Saudi Arabia to coordinate with the Vietnam Representative Office in Saudi Arabia to assist in ensuring the legal rights and interests of Vietnamese workers in Saudi Arabia. In addition, the Deputy Minister also directed the specialized units of MOLISA to be ready to coordinate regularly to ensure efficiency, improve the quality and quantity of Vietnamese employees working in Saudi Arabia.

At the end of the meeting, Deputy Minister Nguyen Ba Hoan hopes that the Ambassador will make positive contributions to further strengthening the cooperation between Vietnam and Saudi Arabia, and sends the best wishes to the Ambassador.
