Deputy Minister Le Tan Dung receives Vice Head of Representative of UNICEF Vietnam

On January 30, 2020, at the headquarter of the Ministry of Labour - Invalids and Social Affairs (MOLISA), Deputy Minister Le Tan Dung had a cordial meeting with the Delegation from UNICEF in Viet Nam  led by Mrs. Lesley Miller - Vice Head Representative of UNICEF in Viet Nam. The main contents shared at the meeting included the development of a social work profession network in Vietnam, new points in multidimensional poverty reduction and some activities in social security in Vietnam in recent years ...

Sharing some information on the situation of activities in social security work in Vietnam in recent years, Deputy Minister Le Tan Dung said that recently, all fields of socio- economy having praiseworthy achievements. On this occasion, the Deputy Minister thanked and appreciated the support of UNICEF Viet Nam in general and of Ms. Lesley Miller in particular for the MOLISA in the past years and hoped that the Ministry would continue in the coming time continue to receive support from UNICEF.

Speaking at the meeting, Mrs. Lesley Miller also thanked MOLISA for the support and companionship in its cooperation activities with UNICEF. She said that both sides have moved towards a common goal and over the years, there have been many achievements. She hoped that in 2020 there will be more achievements in all fields, especially in the construction of the network of social work and social security. These are significant activities, especially 2020 is also the year Vietnam plays the role of ASEAN Chairmanship.
Deputy Minister Le Tan Dung highly appreciated UNICEF's upcoming goals. The Deputy Minister said that the Ministry of Labour - Invalids and Social Affairs is very interested in and is studying to find ways to support poor households appropriately based on the conditions of each poor household, and at the same time mobilize social support for multidimensional poverty reduction in Vietnam. The Deputy Minister said that the common goal of trying to break the vicious cycle of poverty of the poor households.
