Vietnam halts sending workers to coronavirus-hit regions


Minister of Labour - Invalids and Social Affairs has requested employment agencies to suspend taking Vietnamese guest workers to regions hit by the new coronavirus that causes the Covid-19 disease.

Minister Dao Ngoc Dung required the relating Departments to focus on prevention and fighting against Covid- 19 and to overcome the difficulties in the field of state management in order to contribute to ensure the manufacture, business operation and to stabilise the people's lives.

The Departments according to the assigned fields should highly implement the proactive, improve the cooperation with the levels, sectors in order to advise, process the arising issues in prevention and fighting against Covid -19
Minister Dao Ngoc Dung also asked workers’ representative agencies in affected regions to advise workers to proactively make health declarations and monitor their health in accordance with local rules in case of a suspected infection.

Workers returning home from coronavirus-hit countries must comply with reception and quarantine regulations by Vietnam’s Ministry of Health.
According to Minister Dao Ngoc Dung, besides taking preventive measures against Covid-19, it is also necessary to take action in order to ensure normal production and business activities and stabilise the people’s lives.
Concerning Chinese workers coming back to Vietnam to work, the Department of Overseas Labour is in charge of creating a plan to receive them in a selective and strict manner, and in order of urgency of the jobs.
All returning workers must abide by the Ministry of Health’s health examination and quarantine rules.
The MOLISA's Minister also called for increased efforts to advertise a mobile app designed to connect and support those working abroad to Vietnamese workers in the Republic of Korea, Taiwan (China) and Japan.
