On August 13rd, 2019, in Hanoi, the Department of International Cooperation (MOLISA) organized an International workshop on employment trends and human resource development in the context of international integration. Attending the workshop were Deputy Director General of the Department of International Cooperation Cao Thanh Thuy, Director of Institute of Social Science Dao Quang Vinh, Deputy Director of Regular Training Department (Directorate of Vocational Education) Do Van Giang and representatives of foreign diplomatic missions of Korea, Poland, Uruguay, South Korean universities, partners, business associations, vocational colleges and Technical Education University.
Speaking at the Workshop, Deputy Director General of Cao Thanh Thuy said that the labour force at the aged over 15 in Vietnam as of the first quarter of 2019 was 55.4 million people, of which estimated 54.3 million people employed. The proportion of trained labour in Vietnam is increasing year by year; from 53% in 2016 to 56.1% in 2017 and 58.6% in 2018. Human resource development and labour market information is always considered as an important foundation for effective using labour resource, contribute positively to the formation of a market economy institution, take advantage in order to develop and catch up with the region and the world. To develop the labour market, in recent years, the Ministry of Labour - Invalids and Social Affairs has focused on implementing many measures to support workers, including the connection between localities with labour resources demands; strengthen counseling, job introduce at job service centers, enhance training, improve skills for workers.
