Promoting cooperation on vocational education with Baden- Württemberg State


On the occasion of the visit to German Federation, on September 24th, Minister Dao Ngoc Dung and the Delegation from Ministry of Labour – Invalids and Social Affairs had a meeting with Ministry of Social Affairs and Integration; Ministry of Economic Affairs, Labour and Housing of Banden –Württemberg State and the Chamber of Industry Commerce of Stuggart city. The meeting aimed at promoting the cooperation on vocational education and professional human resource migration.

At the meeting, Dr. Nicole Hoffmeister – Kraut, Minister of Economic Affairs, Labour and Housing announced about the situation of the socio-economic development of Banden –Württemberg State. Accordingly, Banden –Württemberg State is the third largest of Federal Republic of Germany and ranked at the leading position at Europe on creative, in which vocational training is the main pillar in development of socio-economy of the State.

Minister Nicole Hoffmeister-Kraut emphasizes that Vietnam is the important partner in ASEAN, especially in the context of EU and Vietnam has just signed the Free Trade Agreement. He also shares the experience about dual training system, as well as the experience of attracting students graduated from high school to learn vocational courses.
Currently, Germany had a huge demand of human resource, especially, manpower in the field of nursing. In the field of dispatching labour working abroad, Vietnam has implemented the program of sending labour to work in the developed countries, in which there are nearly 1,000 Vietnamese nurses working in Federal Republic of Germany.
Thanks to the Ministry of Social Affairs and Integration and the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Labour and Housing of the Baden-Württemberg State for the warm welcome and meaningful experiences about the mutual interest, Minister Dao Ngoc Dung informed the situation and Vietnam's efforts after the signing of the Vietnam-EU Free Trade Agreement, especially, focusing on labour and sustainable development when implementing the Agreement.
“We identified the development of vocational education as an important task in order to improve occupational skills for workers, thereby help Vietnam to escape the middle-income trap. Vietnam respects the great importance of cooperation with Federal Republic of Germany in the field of vocational education” said Minister Dao Ngoc Dung.
From the successful results of the pilot project of dispatching nursing workers between Vietnam and Germany in the past time, Germany's side expected to expand cooperation with Vietnam in providing human resources to other industries, such as: driver, chef, electric, construction, mechanics, interior finishing, child care and education, medical technicians ...
At the meeting, Minister Dao Ngoc Dung proposed strengthening cooperation between the two countries through the signing of a cooperation agreement on vocational education between the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Labour and Housing of Baden-Württemberg and the Directorate of Vocational Education of Vietnam; Signing cooperation agreement on labour reception, including nursing workers between the General Department of Labour under the Ministry of Social Affairs and Integration of Baden-Württemberg State and the Department of Overseas Labour (Ministry of Labour - Invalids and Social Affairs).
On this occasion, Minister Dao Ngoc Dung invited the Minister of Economic Affairs, Labour and Housing of Baden-Württemberg State to attend the National Forum on Vocational Skill Improvement of Vietnam to be held in Hanoi in the forthcoming time.
