Promoting the labour cooperation between Vietnam and United Arab Emirates (UAE)

On the sideline of the 108th International Labour Conference held in Geneva (Switzerland), on June 17th, 2019, Minister of Labour – Invalids and Social Affairs Dao Ngoc Dung and Mr. Nasser Thani Al Hamli, Minister of Ministry of Human Resource of United Arab Emirates (UAE) signed the MOU between Ministry of Labour – Invalids and Social Affairs of Vietnam and Ministry of Human Resource of UAE in the field of domestic workers.

The content of MOU stipulates the procedure of selection, training, responsibilities of the dispatching and receiving agencies, the contents in labour contract and signing contract with labourers. MOU only regulates domestic workers who go to work in UAE, while MOU between the two Government signed in 2009 has provided general regulation for all profession.
It known that Vietnam has started providing labour working in UAE since 1995. Currently, there are approximately 5,000 Vietnamese labourers working in UAE. Most of them work in the field of construction, engineering, ship building, hotel’s service… with the general salary about 450 USD/month.
This event promotes the cooperation between the two countries in the field of human resource, on the base of the result of implementation of MOU about manpower field signed in 2009 between the two Governments. This is also the condition to help the candidate can go to UAE working as domestic worker in the forthcoming time.
