Vietnam and Romania sign the cooperation on labour and social security


On the occasion of the official visit to Europe, on November 28th, 2018, in Bucharest, Romania, Minister of Labour – Invalids and Social Affairs Dao Ngoc Dung and Mr. Marius Constatin Budai - Minister of Labour and Social Justice of Romania had a talking and signing the MOU on cooperation on labour and social security. The MOU has the term of 5 years, from 2018.

Romania is the potential market, with the high demand on foreign labourers, with the profession suitable with Vietnamese labourers and the suitable income for labourers,…

Minister Dao Ngoc Dung said that "the signing between the two Ministries shows the coopeation in many field including sending Vietnamese labourers to work in Romania. Currently, the big demand of receiving labourers of Romania help the econony quickly growth, average of 5 – 7%per year…."

About the cooperation on sending Vietnamese Labour to work in Romania in the coming time, Minister Dao Ngoc Dung said that, he would direct the Department of Overseas Labour to provide the guidline for the enterprises operating in the field of labour export in Vietnam to select the skilled labourers, and negotiate, sign the contract in order to ensure the income, working environment, the welfare for labourers.

Previously, in the period 2008 - 2016, annually, there were about 100 Vietnamese workers in Romania  work in welding, mechanical, electrical and paint industries. In 2017, there are more than 800 Vietnamese workers in Romania. In the first 11 months of 2018, there were nearly 1,400 Vietnamese workers in Romania working in the fields of welding, mechanical engineering, carpentry, iron, tailoring, construction and meat processing.

During the visit to Romania, Minister Dao Ngoc Dung and the Delegation of Ministry of Labour - Invalids and Social Affairs worked with the Ministry of Labour and Social Justice; Ministry of Education of Romania, attended the Roundtable on "Opportunities and Challenges in Vietnam-Romania Labour Cooperation"; Visit and work with the Embassy of Vietnam in Bucharest, visit some educational institutions, companies and businesses of Romania.

According to the MOU between the Ministry of Labour - Invalids and Social Affairs and the Ministry of Labour and Social Justice of Romania: The two sides pledged to promote friendly relations between Vietnam and Romania and wish to promote and expand bilateral cooperation in the field of labour, employment and social security on the basis of equality for the common good.
