Deputy Minister Le Tan Dung receives the Delegation of Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of Mongolia


On October 29th, 2018, at the Ministry's Head office, Deputy Minister Le Tan Dung had a cordial meeting and working with the Delegation from Mongolian Ministry of Labour and Social Protection led by Mrs. Regzen Sanjmyatav – Director General of the Department of policies support people with disabilities, and Mongolian Ambassador to Vietnam. Attending the meeting, Representative from MOLISA were leaders from the Department of International Cooperation, Department of Social Assistances, Department of Child Affairs, Institution of Labour Science and Social Affairs; the visiting Delegation were Representatives from the units under the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of Mongolia.

In the meeting, Deputy Minister Le Tan Dung informed briefly about the duties and responsibilities of MOLISA. He said that, in Vietnam, the responsibilities of the State, society and family with people with disabilities (PWDs) have been regulated in the Constitution of Vietnam in 1946. In 1998, Vietnam issued the Ordinance on PWDs, and in 2010, Vietnam have had Law on PWDs. Currently, the legal document system of Vietnam there are more than 24 documents relating to PWDs, namely, Law on Education, Law on Medical Examination and Treatment,…
According to Deputy Minister Le Tan Dung, Vietnam currently have nearly 8 million of people with disabilities, accounted for 7.8% of population. Moreover, Vietnam have more than 1.5 elderly with the age more than 80 years old and 110,000 people living in the social protection institutions such as, orphans, alone elderly…
Sharing at the meeting, the Deputy Minister said that Vietnam had ratified the International Convention on the Right of People with Disabilities. He also informed about the establishment of National Committee for People with Disabilities which operate with the multi-sector mechanism, with the aim at boosting community integration for PWDs. In addition, Vietnam has many organizations and activities of PWDs work for the strengthening community integration.
Mrs. Regzen Sajmyatav- Head of the Delegation thanked Deputy Minister Le Tan Dung for the warm welcome. She shared some information about people with disabilities of Mongolia. In Mongolia, there are 300,000 people with disabilities in which 10% of PWDs are children, and 70% of PWDs are people at the working ages. She also shared about the amendment of law in 2016 in order to focus on right of PWDs. She stressed that all Ministries, sectors of Mongolia paid attention to PWDs, right of PWDs and PWDs protection. On the occasion of this visit, she hoped to be learnt more experience of the countries on vocational training for PWDs and the work of rehabilitation for PWDs.
At the meeting, Deputy Minister Le Tan Dung and Leaders from the relating Department answered the question of the representatives of the Delegation. He hoped that through the practical visit to the Center of rehabilitation for Children with disabilities Thuy An, the Delegation could reference some model on caring and training for people with disabilities in Vietnam.
At the end of meeting, the Deputy Minister wish the Delegation a successful trip. He hoped that at the Conference on October 31st, the two sides would share more excellent experiences.
