On September 12th, 2018, in Hanoi, on the Edge of the World Economic Forum on ASEAN (WEF ASEAN) 2018, the Minister of Labour – Invalids and Social Affairs Dao Ngoc Dung had a meeting with Mrs. Michaelia Cash – Australian Minister of the small businesses and household enterprise, skills and vocational education and sharing information about the vocational education field.
At the meeting, Minister Dao Ngoc Dung expressed his pleasure to meet Mrs. Michaelia Cash as well as focused on sharing about vocational education. According to, the Minister, Vietnam’s Government has paid the special attention to education – training, human resource training has been considered as one of three breakthrough areas in socio-economic development. Ministry of Labour – Invalids and Social Affairs has been assigned by the Government in the field of state management on vocational education. Vietnam has defined that labourers with professional skills as the key of improving labour productivity.
On March, 2018, in the framework of the officially visit to Australia of the Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc, the two Ministers of Vietnam’s Ministry of Labour – Invalids and Social Affairs and Ministers of Australia’s Ministry of Vocational education and skills signed the MOU of the cooperation on the vocational education field.
To implement effectively the cooperation between the two countries, Minister Dao Ngoc Dung expected that Mrs. Michaelia Cash to direct the relating agencies actively deploying the implementation of the MOU; support implementing the effective training of 12 set of program transferred from Australia which was adjusted in order to match with the condition in Vietnam; support and make the condition in issuing Visa for teachers take part in the trained courses in Australia; strengthen the work of helping Vietnam establishing and operating the Council of professional skills to contribute into innovation and improvement of vocational education quality.
Mrs. Michaelia Cash thanked Minister Dao Ngoc Dung for the warm welcome. She affirmed that Vietnam and Australia had a bilateral relationship. Especially, in March 2018, the two sides signed a MOU on cooperation in the field of vocational education.
