The leaders of Ministry of Labour - Invalids and Social Affairs cordial welcome the UNICEF Representative in Vietnam

On the afternoon of 17 February, 2014, the UNICEF Representative in Vietnam, Ms. Lotta Sylwander had to say goodbye to the MOLISA's leadership on the occasion of the end of her working term in Vietnam.


     Minister Pham Thi Hai Chuyen, Deputy Minister Nguyen Trong Dam and  Deputy Doan Mau Diep welcomed and highly appreciated the contribution and support of UNICEF, especially with her ​​personally Lotta Sylwander for the work of protection, child care, social work and social protection ... in Vietnam in recent years.
 
     On behalf of the leadership of the Ministry, the Minister Pham Thi Hai Chuyen wished Ms. Lotta Sylwander would have much more success in the new position and continue to support the collaboration between UNICEF - Vietnam in general and UNICEF - the Ministry of Labour - Invalids and Social Affairs in particular. On this occasion, the Minister Pham Thi Hai Chuyen informed that the MOLISA has proposed to the Prime Minister to award a medal for individual Ms. Lotta Sylwander for outstanding achievements for the protection, care and education of children.
 
     Speaking at the reception, Ms. Lotta Sylwander appreciated Vietnam's efforts and coordination among agencies in the development of social security and assistance for the disabled, especially children with disabilities. She also hoped that in the near future, the Government of Vietnam will achieve much progress in the care and protection of children, which further promote activities to support children with disabilities by early ratification UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.
 
     Along with the appreciation for Vietnam in addressing issues related to children, UNICEF Representative, on this occasion, also reaffirmed the important role of the Congress in making policy toward children, in particular, in the amendment constitution recently have addressed the issue of children's rights.
 
     Finally, with the personal feelings, Ms. Lotta Sylwander shared, whether in any position, she will always be ready to assist, cooperate, calling on organizations and the international community in assisting Vietnam in order to better working in the care & protection for children.
