Deputy Minister NguyenTrong Dam receives the Irish Aid Delegation

On 26 March 2013, MOLISA Deputy Minister Nguyen Trong Dam hosts a working reception with the Irish Aid Delegation at the MOLISA office.











      At the reception, Deputy Minister Nguyen Trong Dam expresses his appreciation to the Irish Aid support to special difficult regions of minority groups. MOLISA Deputy Minister states that the assistances which have been granted by the Irish Aid are meaningful and play important contributions to poverty elimination in Vietnam in general and at the special difficult regions in particular. Deputy Minister Nguyen Trong Dam also expresses his happiness when informed by the delegation that the Irish Aid continue to support the poverty reduction efforts of Vietnam in the period of 2011-2015. Irish Aid has collaborated with MOLISA in planning the project of technical support to the implementation of Resolution 80 & Vietnam program of National Targets of poverty reduction of 2011-2015 period. 
 
    The Irish Aid’s financial & technical supports have effectively contributed to Vietnam’s sustainable poverty reduction, especially to 8 selected provinces through design and implement pilot models of poverty reduction.
 
     Deputy Minister Nguyen Trong Dam proposes a continue financial and technical support from the Irish Aid in through implementation of technical assistance to poverty reduction policy project; provision of additional financial assistance to pilot groups, such as the minority people, disabled people and children, women of mountainous locations. Special attention is required for technical support to implementation of poverty reduction policies to provinces who apply the project of “poverty reduction package”. At the same time, more attention should be paid to social security works, especially to the disabled through completion of mechanism, policy, capacity & tools to materialize the Law of the Disabled and related international and regional strategies.  
 
     Mr. Donal Cronin, representative of the Irish Aid informs the Deputy Minister that Irish Aid is currently conduct mid-term assessment of its 5 year plan for cooperation with Vietnam. He confirms that the Irish Aid commits its continued support to Vietnam through implementation of 135 programs. The organization will focus its resources to poverty reduction support, with special attention to the dis-advantaged groups in mountainous areas, the disabled, poor children and women.
