On September 30, 2020, APEC Women and the Economy Virtual Forum 2020 has been held with the attending of the Ministers/Head of the Delegation, the senior officer and representatives from 21 member economies of APEC and the invitees from APEC’s Secretary Board, APEC’s Economic consulting Council, ASEAN Secretariat Board. The Delegation of Vietnam led by Mrs. Nguyen Thi Ha, Deputy Minister of Labour – Invalids and Social Affairs and the member are representatives from the relating ministries, sectors and agencies participated the Forum at Hanoi bridge point.
Gender and economic development ministers and senior officials from APEC member economies will intensify their efforts to advance women’s economic empowerment in a bid to broaden and strengthen economic recovery in the Asia-Pacific.
Opinions and views of Vietnam as well as ministers/heads of delegations from 21 APEC member economies were reflected in the Joint Statement adopted after the high-level policy dialogue session at the Forum. Gender and economic development ministers and senior officials agreed on a joint statement at the meeting, reflecting their views to advancing women’s economic empowerment to strengthen post-pandemic economic recovery and resilience.
