Campaign launched to seek funding for SOS Children’s Villages


SOS Children’s Villages Vietnam has launched a campaign called ‘Lo Dung Tinh Thuong' (Love-Filled Jar) to raise funds for more than 3,000 children at its 17 villages throughout the country. The campaign aims to call for long-term sponsorship for 238 families who have been bringing up over 3,000 underprivileged children at 17 SOS villages in 17 provinces and cities nationwide.

At the launching ceremony in Ho Chi Minh City, Deputy Minister of Labour - Invalids and Social Affairs Nguyen Thi Ha hoped that the campaign would attract many concerns of the community. The Deputy Minister emphasized that “Even 10,000 VND donations could be small amount of money for many people, but it would help change the life and future of these children,”.

It’s known that, “SOS Villages” have operated in Vietnam for 32 years. For the past 32 years, more than 2,800 children have grown up in the SOS villages on the whole country. They become independent and confident people integrating into the community. Currently, SOS village for Children in Vietnam are raising more than 3,000 children in 17 villages on nationwide.  
In addition, 1,955 orphans and children with special circumstances in 1,858 families have been supported in the program of “Family strengthening: to prevent of abandonment and uneducated situation”.
