On May 09, at the Ministry’s Headquarters, Deputy Minister Le Van Thanh had a meeting and working with the High-level Official Delegation from the Ministry of Labour and Social Welfares of Lao led by Mr. Padeumphone Sonthany, Deputy Minister of Labour and Social Welfares. Attending the meeting were representatives from units under the Ministry.

 Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on April 27 attended a ceremony to launch the Action Month on Occupational Safety and Hygiene and the Month for Workers in 2023. At the ceremony, the Prime Minister stressed the need to pay more attention to labourers, and listen to their thoughts and aspirations.

 On April 25, at the Ministry Headoffice, Deputy Minister Le Tan Dung had a cordial with Ambassador for Education of the Ministry for Foreign Affairs - Mrs. Marjiaana Sall and shared on the coming cooperation plan in the field of vocational education. Attending the meeting were Leadership representatives from the Department of International Cooperation, Directorate of Vocational Education.

On April 19, the International Organization for Migration (IOM) Vietnam in collaboration with the Department of Overseas Labour (DOLAB) under the Ministry of Labour - Invalids and Social Affairs held the consulting conference on cooperation Programs and Activities in the field of migrant workers in the period 2024 - 2028. Attending the meeting were Leaders from IOM and DOLAB, relating units under the Ministry, and officials of the departments of labour - invalids and social affairs of nine localities with large numbers of people working overseas.  

 Vietnam sent nearly 38,000 labourers abroad in the first three months of 2023, accounting for 34.48% of the whole year plan, and more than 15 times higher than the same period in 2022.

On April 5, Vietnam - Cambodia Labour Ministers Conference was taken place in Hanoi. Vietnam's Minister of Labour - Invalids and Social Affairs (MOLISA) Dao Ngoc Dung and Minister of Labour and Vocational Training of the Kingdom of Cambodia Ith Samheng co-chaired the Conference. Attending the meeting were leaders of the Ministry, representatives of relevant units of the two ministries, and the Embassy of the Kingdom of Cambodia to Hanoi.

 On April 3, at the Headquarters of the Ministry of Labour - Invalids and Social Affairs, Deputy Minister Nguyen Ba Hoan had a cordial meeting with Mr. Shishido Kenichi - Special Advisor of the President of JICA on foreign workers. Attending the meeting were leaders of the Department of International Cooperation, and the Department of Overseas Labour. At the meeting, two issues were discussed regarding the cooperation between the Ministry of Labour - Invalids and Social Affairs and JICA in the field of foreign workers; Programs on Job Connection Information for Vietnamese labour working abroad.

 On March 28, in Hanoi, Vietnam Decent Work Country Programme 2022 -2026 was announced and signed between representatives of the Government, workers and employers and the International Labour Organization (ILO).
