National fund supports COVID-19-hit children

The National Fund for Vietnamese Children has provided 7.78 billion VND (342,572 USD) to children orphaned by COVID-19 and offered aid of over 7 billion VND 308,263 USD) in cash and kind to 12,800 others affected by the pandemic.
Enhancing regional cooperation in legal research on sexual exploitation of children in travel and tourism

On October 27th, in Hanoi, Vietnamese Ministry of Justice and United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) jointly held the second session on legal research on sexual exploitation of children in travel and tourism. Attending the session was senior representatives from the four countries in the region, as well as representatives from the UN, the British Embassy, JICA and other development partners.

The Ministry of Labour- Invalids and Social Affairs has urged local authorities to increase inspections and punish all establishments using child labour or forced labour. They are to report their findings by November 15.
Child adoption registration fee announced

Foreigners residing in Vietnam will have to pay a registration fee of 4.5 million VND (204 USD) to adopt a Vietnamese child, the same level for foreigners residing in border areas of Vietnam’s neighbouring countries who wish to adopt a Vietnamese child in Vietnam’s border localities.
