The ASEAN 2020 National Committee convened its fifth meeting in Hanoi on May 15, focusing on preparations for the upcoming 36th ASEAN Summit. At the Meeting Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Pham Binh Minh, who is chairman of the committee, said the COVID-19 pandemic has largely impacted ASEAN in general and Vietnam’s ASEAN Chairmanship 2020 in particular.

On May 14th, 2020, the Video Conference of ASEAN Labour Ministerial Meeting on response to the impact of Covid-19 pandemic on labour and employment was held with the participation of 10 member countries of ASEAN, Secretary Board of ASEAN and International Labour Organization. Vietnam Delegation was led by Minister of Labour – Invalids and Social Affairs Dao Ngoc Dung.

On May 08th, 2020, in Hanoi, Ministry of Labour - Invalids and Social Affairs in cooperation with Vietnam General Confederation held the Action month and Worker's Month 2020. attending the launching ceremony were Mr. Dao Ngoc Dung - Minister of Labour - Invalids and Social Affairs; Mr. Nguyen Dinh Khang - President of Vietnam General Confederation; Mr.Chang Hee Lee – Director of ILO Vietnam; representatives from the Ministries, sectors, and the member of the Central Steering Committee of Action month for labour safety, hygiene, Worker's month 2020.

On April, 29th, 2020, at the Ministry’s Head office, Deputy Minister Le Van Thanh had a meeting with Mr. Chang Hee Lee – Director of ILO Vietnam. At the meeting, Mr. Chang Hee Lee donated a set of virtual meeting room equipments to MOLISA. On this occasion, the two sides also shared about the situation of preventing and fighting against the pandemic Covid-19 and some issues on cooperated activities between MOLISA and ILO Vietnam for the past time.

On February 18, 2020, at the Ministry’s Head office, Minister Dao Ngoc Dung had a cordial meeting with Mr. Park Noh – Wan, New Republic of Korean (ROK) Ambassador to Vietnam. Attending the meeting were Leaders from the Department of International Cooperation, Department of Social Insurance, Department of Overseas Labour, Department of Employment and Directorate of Vocational Education.

On January 30, 2020, at the headquarter of the Ministry of Labour - Invalids and Social Affairs (MOLISA), Deputy Minister Le Tan Dung had a cordial meeting with the Delegation from UNICEF in Viet Nam  led by Mrs. Lesley Miller - Vice Head Representative of UNICEF in Viet Nam. The main contents shared at the meeting included the development of a social work profession network in Vietnam, new points in multidimensional poverty reduction and some activities in social security in Vietnam in recent years ...

On January 20th, 2020, in Hanoi, under the authorization of the Minister of Labour - Invalids and Social Affairs, Deputy Minister Le Van Thanh awarded the Medal for the Cause of Labour – Invalids and Social Affairs to Mr. Lunev Konstantin,  the First Secretary of Russian Embassy to Vietnam for his contribution to the cooperation on labour between Vietnam and Russia.
