In the framework of the official visit to General Federal Germany, on September 26th, Minister Dao Ngoc Dung and the Delegation of Ministry of Labour – Invalids and Social Affairs of Vietnam had a meeting with Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs of Federal Republic of Germany. Mr. Rolf Schmachtenberd, Permanent State Secretary at the Federal Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs had a cordial meeting with the Delegation.

The third ministerial conference on labour cooperation among Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Thailand and Vietnam (CLMTV) kicked off in Siem Reap city of Cambodia on September 17. The Vietnamese Delegation led by Deputy Minister of Labour - Invalids and Social Affairs Nguyen Thi Ha attended this event.

On September 13th, 2019, at the Ministry’s Head office, Minister Dao Ngoc Dung had a cordial meeting with Mr. Daniel J. Kristenbrink, US. Ambassador to Vietnam. Attending the meeting were Leaders from Department of International Cooperation, Department of Legal Affairs, Department of Labour Relationship and Wage. At the meeting, the two sides shared a number of issues relating to content of draft of Labour Code (amended) towards ensuring the harmonious, stable development and approaching the common trend and international standards.

On September 06th, at the Ministry’s Head office, Deputy Minister Nguyen Thi Ha had a cordial meeting with Mr. Kung Phoak – Vice General Secretary of ASEAN, in responsible of ASEAN Socio – Cultural Community. Attending the meeting were Mrs. Sita Sumrit, representative of Secretary Board of ASEAN, and representatives of the Department of International Cooperation, Department of Gender Equality and Department of Child Affairs. At the meeting, the two sides have shared about a number of the cooperation activities between Vietnam – ASEAN for the past time and the priority activities which Vietnam intends to in 2020.

On August 29th, 2019, at the Head office of the Ministry, Ministry of Labour - Invalids and Social Affairs organized a medal ceremony for the cause of Labour - Invalids and Social Affairs for Mrs. Astrid Bant – Head Representative of United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) in Vietnam. Deputy Minister Nguyen Thi Ha attended and awarded the medal, some officials of Department of the Ministry and representatives of UNFPA organizations present at the ceremony.

On August 27th, 2019, Ministry of Labour – Invalids and Social (MOLISA) and tripartite agencies of Vietnam in cooperation with International Labour Organization ILO held the 100th Anniversary of ILO’s establishment (1919 – 2019) and ideals of Ho Chi Minh on labour and social security with the theme “Shared ideals of Ho Chi Minh and ILO towards decent work for all”. On July, 16th, 2019, at the Ministry Head office, the Center of Overseas Labour and Osaka Medical Care Association, held the Signing Ceremony on the cooperation agreement on dispatching Vietnamese nursing trainees to intern in Japan. Minister of Labour – Invalids and Social Affairs Dao Ngoc Dung and Japanese envoy to Vietnam – Mr. Asazuma Shinichi attended and witnessed the signing ceremony. Addressing at the event, Minister Dao Ngoc Dung said that, since 2012, on the base of the result of the Vietnam- Japan economic partners Treaty, MOLISA assigned the Department of Overseas Labour to pilot implementation, however, the number of dispatched people annually has not been a large number.
