Enhancing the selection, training and dispatching the Vietnamese nursing trainees to intern in Japan

On July, 16th, 2019, at the Ministry Head office, the Center of Overseas Labour and Osaka Medical Care Association, held the Signing Ceremony on the cooperation agreement on dispatching Vietnamese nursing trainees to intern in Japan. Minister of Labour – Invalids and Social Affairs Dao Ngoc Dung and Japanese envoy to Vietnam – Mr. Asazuma Shinichi attended and witnessed the signing ceremony. Addressing at the event, Minister Dao Ngoc Dung said that, since 2012, on the base of the result of the Vietnam- Japan economic partners Treaty, MOLISA assigned the Department of Overseas Labour to pilot implementation, however, the number of dispatched people annually has not been a large number.

On July 01st, Vietnam’s Minister of Labour - Invalids and Social Affairs (MOLISA) Dao Ngoc Dung and Japan’s Minister of Justice hand over a memorandum of cooperation (MOC) on sending specific skilled workers of Vietnam to work in Japan. Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc and his Japanese counterpart Shinzo Abe attended the signing ceremony of the MOC, inked by representatives of the MOLISA and the Ministry of Justice, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare, and the National Police Agency of Japan.

On June 27, at the Ministry’s Head Office, Deputy Minister of Labour - Invalids and Social Affairs Doan Mau Diep had a meeting and worked with Mr. Lee Yeon Bog - Vice President of the Human Resources Development Service of Korea (HRD KOREA) on the coordinating the implementation of dispatching Vietnamese workers to work in Korea under the Employment Permit Program (EPS). Attending the meeting were leadership representatives of the units: International Cooperation Department, Department  of Overseas Labour, Center of Overseas Labour.

During June 20-21, Minister of Labour - Invalids and Social Affairs Dao Ngoc Dung, as a special envoy of the Prime Minister of Vietnam, paid a working visit to the European Union (EU) and the Kingdom of Belgium to promote the signing of the Free Trade Agreement between Vietnam and the EU (EVFTA) and affirm Vietnam's efforts to implement international commitments on labour.

Vietnam will make all-out efforts to fulfill its obligations as a member of the International Labour Organisation (ILO) and further promote cooperation between the organisation and tripartite actors – the Government, employers, and employees in the country. Minister of Labour - Invalids and Social Affairs Dao Ngoc Dung, made that pledge at a plenary session of the 108th International Labour Conference in Geneva, Switzerland, on June 18.
